Dare to Call Him Father

The book that started this off is called Dare to Call Him Father. Bilquis Sheik is an affluent, influential, divorced Muslim woman living in a small town in Pakistan, circa 1966. Through a set of circumstances she meets God, and "dares to call Him Father".

The reason for this blog in the first place was to create a forum to discuss the book and its relevance to us. Certainly the book is easy to read, flows well and quickly, and is interesting. But much more than that she describes a relationship with her Father that is beautiful, and ENVIABLE. I couldn't help but wish I experienced the "glory" of the Lord in my everyday life as she does. She describes the feeling of "losing" the glory of the Lord, as disobedience distances her from God. Do I ever feel the presence of God so clearly that I can sense right away when He steps back from me? (Or in reality, when I step back from Him!) And that loss of intimacy was enough to make her immediately repentant.

Whoever has comments to make on this or any other book, please feel free to post a response.
